UW raises funds through Pennies for People
In 2006, the United Way decided to give young residents the opportunity to become involved in the spirit of giving to those less fortunate in our communities. UWJC contacted Johnson County school districts with the opportunity to participate in the Pennies for People campaign. Since the inception of the PFP campaign, students in Johnson County have raised more than $45,000 in the effort to improve the lives of Johnson County residents. In 2013, several businesses joined the Pennies for People campaign. Sherwin-Williams, Wright Tire, and CICI's Pizza participated in the PFP campaign by placing donation containers in their businesses.
